Earlier this month Salon deZEN, a full service beauty salon in Alexandria Virginia hosted Fashion For Compassion, a very special fashion mixer and runway show in celebration of their fundraising efforts for Bethany House. The event featured fresh fall looks provided by REVEL Style, a super edgy Los Angeles street style inspired boutique located in the quaint Old Town Alexandria Virginia corridor and a special guest speaker from Bethany House of Northern Virginia.
Established in 1979, Bethany House provides emergency shelter and supportive services to victims of domestic violence throughout Northern Virginia and the surrounding DC metro area. They are committed to assisting victims of domestic violence regain health and dignity and re-establish themselves in their community by providing temporary housing and support. Crisis intervention services, trauma recovery, and community outreach are just a few of the levels of care provided by the Bethany House. They accept donations in the form of funds, goods, and services to support the daily operations of their programs.
The event included a well stocked open bar with specialty drinks as well as light hors d’oeuvres. The Glow Girls opened the show with an illuminated dance performance and Revel Style surely did not disappoint, offering the latest ready to wear pieces from their collection. Prior to the event, Salon deZEN had already raised over $1800.00 in support of the Bethany House from raffle sales alone. The salon offered a variety of prizes; including a complementary cut and color from deZEN as well as several prizes donated by local businesses, and although the event itself was free 100 percent the of sales went directly to the Bethany House.
